    Sylvie Genier is the leader of the Business Communications Team in the Government Securities Services Department at the Bank of Canada. Her team provides a centralized, all-inclusive service for the delivery of quality, cost-effective business communications and documentation. Sylvie will be attending the 45th annual STC conference in Anaheim, and is looking forward to meeting other members of the Society.
  • Valerie Yates Valerie Yates has been a technical editor and writer since 1989. She has worked in a variety of areas, from contract management to telecommunications. Her areas of interest include developing documentation standards and procedures, quality and usability issues, and the evolution of the technical communications field. She would like to teach technical editing. In her spare time, Valerie writes fiction, gardens, cares for her young twins, and dreams of travelling the world.

    Sarah Anderson Sarah Anderson is an editor at Cognos Incorporated. She has recently returned to Canada from Germany, where she was working for SAP. She has a background in linguistics and German literature.

    Congratulations to the newest senior members

    According to Society bylaws, the grade of senior member is conferred automatically after five years of membership in the Society.

  • Senior membership opens the door to positions of higher responsibility, service, and leadership in the STC. As senior members, these individuals have an opportunity to serve their fellow members and their chosen professions by participating in the leadership of the STC at the Society level. These new senior members will receive certificates from the STC in recognition of their newly acquired status. Congratulations to all.
