President's farewell
by Sharon Morgan
|
What an exciting and challenging year this has been for me! I want to thank all of you who have offered your support and encouragement during my term of office. I would especially like to thank this year's executive and committee volunteers without whom this would not have been such a successful year. They have a lot to be proud of including It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to accomplish all of the above and that's what your executive and volunteers provided. Hats off and again thank you. Call for volunteers Volunteers are a very important part of the society. They work |
hard and don't get a lot of recognition, but they care. They care about providing the best support they can to their colleagues. Without them, we would not have the job bank, newsletter, competitions, workshops, or even opportunities for networking. Your new executive needs you. Whether it's heading up a program or doing data entry for the membership directory, please volunteer and make next year another successful one. Membership renewal means money in the bank It's renewal time again. Last month our numbers reached an all time high of 311. This month, however, this month we have only 200 members left. I know, I know, you just haven't had an opportunity to put the cheque in the mail. PLEASE, it is time to renew your membership now! The income we receive from headquarters to support our programs and other activities is based on the total number of members we have on June 30th. After that date, we're out of luck and won't have the funds to provide you the best possible programs for an increasing membership. Final duty As my last official duty as president, I've enclosed a survey for you to provide feedback on the past year and desires for the upcoming year. Please take the time to fill it out. Have a great summer! Sharon |
