Proceedings of the STC's Annual Conference for sale on CD-ROM
The proceedings from the STC's 45th Annual Conference are now on sale on CD-ROM. This is the first time the STC has offered a complete set of its annual conference proceedings in this format. The STC's annual conference is the largest event in the world that addresses the professional needs of technical writers, editors, illustrators, and others who work or manage in the technical communication field. The proceedings gathers together all the papers presented at the 1998 conference—more than 200 on subjects that include new online help systems, Web page design, ideas on writing and editing, and new theories and research related to technical communication. proceedings in print format—the CD-ROM is a high-tech alternative that allows users to search papers according to title, author, and subject. The papers are stored in Portable Document Format (PDF) to ensure that they retain their original formatting and that figures and tables print correctly. All software necessary to display and print PDF files is included on the CD-ROM. The CD-ROM software works on both Mac and Windows operating systems. The CD-ROM version of the proceedings sells for $10 to STC members, and $15 to non-members. The print version sells for $60 to STC members, and $90 for non-members.
